You will need to get the driver through Windows Update. The easiest way to do this may be to go the Devices and Printers folder, select Add a Printer, Local Pirnter, LPt1: (or some other dummy port, then select 'Windows Update' in the lower right corner of the printers list. It will take several minutes for the list to repopulate, after that you should be able to simply connect the printer via its USB cable and have PlugNPlay take over. Hello, – Greetings! Thanks for reaching out!

I’d be glad to help you with the printer issue I understand that you are trying to download drivers for your Deskjet 5940 printer. I am afraid we do not have downloadable drivers for Windows 10 OS as this is an older model printer. I’d suggest you use the Windows built-in drivers to try and install the printer. First, open Windows Device Installation Settings and confirm that your computer is set to automatically download driver software. Search Windows for Change Device Installation, and then click the Change device installation settings Control Panel setting in the list of results. Device Installation Settings window displays.

Select the Yes option, and then click Save Changes. Now, follow the steps listed under step 3 here: Let me know how that goes! Cheers Please click ' Accepted as Solution' on the post that solves your issue to help others find the solution. To show appreciation for my help, please click the ' Thumbs Up Icon' below!
