Hit another huge musical milestone in his native UK as his chart-busting hit “Shape of You” was named the most streamed song of all time in the UK, per an Official Charts Company. The track is also reportedly the biggest-selling song of 2017 in the UK to date, having moved a staggering 2.6 million copies (across all formats). Of those total sales, 72 percent are streaming equivalent sales which equal 184 million plays. Sheeran out-streamed Drake’s “One Dance” to set the new UK record. Setting records and smashing them is nothing new for the charismatic, multi-talented Suffolk native. He’s dominated the global music landscape since “Shape” and “Castle on the Hill” dropped simultaneously back in January, just a few months ahead of his critically-acclaimed third studio album Divide’s release. Coincidentally, “Castle on the Hill” made the cut as the second biggest UK song of the year to date, with 1.5 million equivalent units sold.
